Program description and what is included

The English course includes 15 hours + an additional three hours with British pupils per week. In the morning the children attend geography, history and maths lessons (without active participation) with students from the school. There will be approximately 3 children per group in this class. In the afternoon, there are separate English lessons for children in closed classrooms, in a study group of up to 15 children. This approach strengthens their language skills, especially speaking, and gives them the experience of studying and living in a typical English school. All levels are available.

Description

Glebe House School is situated in the elegant resort of Hunstanton and is the ideal base to enjoy Norfolk’s superb coastline, renowned for its unique striped cliffs and magnificent sunsets, made special by its position as the only west-facing resort on the East coast.

The programme allows your students to live a typical British boarding or day school experience while making friends with English-speaking peers.

It is available throughout the academic year, except school holidays.

The visiting students will be placed in existing morning classes following subjects like Geography, History, Math without actively participating. A maximum of 3 children will be allocated in each class.

Children are accommodated in the school's residence or host families. The type of accommodation is also determined by the school, so it is not possible to choose in advance whether it will be a residence or a family. The type of accommodation is dependent on the age and gender of the children, as in the residence the children will live with ordinary students of the school rather than as a group in a separate room. The rooms are en-suite multi-bedded. Once a week the staff will clean and change the linen and towels. There are free laundry facilities on campus. There is a communal lounge with a TV on campus. Host families stay in 30-40 minutes away from the school. Meals are served three times a day and lunch is packed on weekend trips.
